Many jury members have been very committed to the SPE AutomotiveAward—some for decades—and with their expert knowledge and objective evaluation of submissions, they contribute significantly to the award’s excellent reputation in the industry. Therefore, it was particularly important to the board to express heartfelt thanks to those who have contributed most frequently to its success for their selfless commitment. The recognition took place at the jury meeting at the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig.
The first Jury Award went to—who else—Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Fernengel, who led the jury’s work for many years. The circle of honorees also included long-standing members such as Dr. Ingo Kleba, Günter Kögel, Joachim Melzig, Klaus Münker, Bernhard Peters, Hans Schwager, Dr. Thomas Walther, and the current coordinator Thilo Stier. Over the years, new members have been added to the jury; many of them have already participated in component evaluation several times and also received a small award for their contributions.
All jurors who are part of the core jury but were unable to come to Leipzig will receive SPE Central Europe’s thanks at a later date.
