SPE Jury Meeting at Akro-Plastic in Niederzissen

The jurors met at Akro-Plastic in Niederzissen and jointly developed new ideas for the further development of the renowned SPE Automotive Award.
The board of SPE Central Europe had invited to an information and discussion forum, and more than half of the jurors of the SPE Automotive Award had accepted this invitation. In the event led by Division Chairman Bernard Rzepka and Department Coordinator Thilo Stier, the jurors submitted numerous suggestions for the further development of the Award on January 30 and 31, 2020.
After the presentation and detailed explanation of the current evaluation concept on the day of arrival, the jurors were tasked with submitting and discussing suggestions for improving the Award during the subsequent evening event at Schlosshotel Burgbrohl.
The following day, in part two of the jury meeting, the many suggestions for improvement could then be channeled. These included new evaluation criteria such as sustainability and economic efficiency, increased transparency, and how to boost the Award’s visibility. The future design of the Academy Award, which recognizes master’s theses related to plastics in automotive, was also discussed.
Finally, interested parties could participate in a company tour at Akro-Plastic GmbH.
