33rd Annual General Meeting

The 33rd Annual General Meeting of SPE Central Europe was held on September 13, 2019, in Hanover. As always, the focus was on preparing for the 19th Award Night, taking place shortly before the K Fair in Düsseldorf.

The meeting point was the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof, traditionally the premier location in the center of Hanover. The morning session was largely led by President Dr.-Ing. Klaus-Dieter Johnke, who used the time for his comprehensive and interesting board report on the activities of the past fiscal year.

The successful 2018 SPE Automotive Award, held on July 6, 2018, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Düsseldorf-Neuss, featured prominently in the report.
The relaunch of the website was eagerly discussed, and further possibilities were considered.

The afternoon was dedicated to financial matters. Treasurer Klaus Fricke explained various items in his financial report, bringing the income and expenditures of the reporting period to life. The subsequent presentation of the financial plan for the current fiscal year met with broad approval.

However, most of the time was devoted to creative areas and further projects, and anticipation for the next Award Night grew steadily.

SPE members and their companions concluded the evening with a delicious joint dinner in the hotel’s “Weinkeller.” The house sommelier provided the perfect wine pairings as the finishing touch to a thoroughly successful day.

The rustic and cozy cellar is, incidentally, frequently used for state visits in Hanover. We believe it truly deserved the honor.
