35th Annual General Meeting

The 35th Annual General Meeting of the International Society for Plastics Technology e.V. / SPE Central Europe took place on October 12, 2023, at Kastens Hotel Luisenhof in Hanover, the traditional top hotel in the heart of the city. Chairman Bernard Rzepka opened and chaired the meeting, warmly welcoming members and guests.

Executive Board member Klaus Fricke reported on the association’s activities and successes in the past fiscal year. Special emphasis was placed on the 21st Award Night, which took place in Neuss in October 2022 and attracted more than 140 guests. The Award is a renowned distinction for innovative and sustainable plastic solutions in the automotive sector. The Executive Board also provided an update on ongoing efforts to refine and communicate the sustainability criteria for the Award.

The treasurer’s report showed a positive result for the 2022/2023 fiscal year. The auditors confirmed proper financial management and proposed the discharge of the Executive Board, which was unanimously granted.

Another important agenda item was the presentation and vote on the association’s new statutes. The election of the Executive Board brought no change to the leadership of the association.
Bernard Rzepka was re-elected as Chairman with a large majority. The new Executive Board consists of four individuals: Bernard Rzepka (President), Matthias Grafe (Vice-President), Klaus Fricke (Treasurer), and Ursula Mellema (Secretary). Dietrich Taubert congratulated the newly elected Executive Board and wished them great success.

Most of the time was then dedicated to the creative area and further projects, with anticipation for the next Award Night steadily growing.

The meeting concluded with a joint lunch and lively discussions among the participants.
