Innovations in Categories and Special Awards
Times like these are ideal for developing new solutions. That is why, on September 15, we are launching the call for the 20th time to submit innovative plastic vehicle components for the SPE Automotive Awards competition.
Submission deadline is January 15, 2021!
The time has come again – SPE Central Europe is calling on all companies in the plastics industry to submit their innovative components for automotive applications for the Automotive Award. The categories in which the awards are presented have once again been adapted to current circumstances:
Body Interior
Body Exterior
Power Train – Chassis and Drive Technology for Combustion Engines
New Mobility – Drive Technology for Electric Motors/Fuel Cell Vehicles
Electronical/Optical Part
Chassis Unit/Structural Component
Enabler Technology
In the first six categories, only series production parts may be submitted. Prototypes, pre-series parts, production equipment, special technologies, and parts where the innovation lies in consistent, economical process design or digitalization are assigned to the last-mentioned category.
New Special Award
In 2021, three Special Awards will be presented. Since 1992, the Grand Award has recognized the submission with the highest score across all categories, and the Grand Innovation Award goes to the part most frequently rated as highly innovative by the jurors. The Sustainability Award, to be presented for the first time next year, will honor the best overall ecological performance among all submitted parts.
All companies involved in the development and production of a part or component may submit entries – not only automotive manufacturers and system suppliers, but also plastics processors, raw material producers, tool and machine manufacturers, or design offices. The submission documents can be found in the download section. The submission deadline is January 15, 2021.
