TechTalks@Campus – this time at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences
For the first time, we were guests at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, in the field of plastics engineering. Prof. Martin Würtele and the students welcomed us to their technical centre and showed us the topics they are working on in their study and research projects. A highly insightful look behind the scenes!
Then it was our turn, and we explained technical details of around 25 plastic components that have received awards in recent years at the SPE AutomotiveAward®. To this end, we set up several stations between which the students rotated in small groups. This enabled in-depth discussions about the components. The prospective plastics engineers were very well prepared and highly interested in expanding their knowledge. As a result, the discussions covered not only technical details of the parts, but also economic and organisational aspects of recycling and the circular economy. The lively exchanges did not end with the event at the technical centre, but continued over a shared dinner, to the great benefit of both sides.
Our sincere thanks to Martin Würtele and his colleagues for the excellent preparation of the event. We would also like to extend our warm thanks to Manfred Duri of Syensqo and Andreas Weinmann of Kuraray, to our Technical Division Coordinator Thilo Stier, representing AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH, and to our President Bernard Rzepka, who presented the plastic components with great expertise and discussed them with the students. Our impression was that the event gave everyone involved a great deal of enjoyment—so we will be pleased to accept the invitation and return next year, then already bringing along a few parts from the AutomotiveAward 2027!
