SPE AutomotiveAward 2025

The winners of the SPE AutomotiveAward 2025 have been announced!

Two days before the start of the K trade fair, SPE Central Europe revealed the secret on October 6, 2025 at the Kameha Grand Bonn: which highly innovative plastic components for vehicle construction won the Automotive Awards this year. The submissions impressively demonstrate how new materials, circularity, and ingenious technologies are shaping the mobility of the future.

In addition to the awards for the best components, the Young Professionals Award was also presented. Three outstanding master’s theses on plastics applications and lightweight construction in automotive engineering were recognized—a strong signal of the innovative power of the next generation.

Furthermore, SPE Central Europe honored Otto Happich, a pioneer of numerous innovations in plastics technology, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. At the same time, the association commemorated Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Fernengel, who shaped the work of the association and the plastics industry for decades and passed away unexpectedly in April. In his honor, singer Anna Maria Kaufmann performed a moving musical tribute that created an emotional moment.

Looking to the future, the keynote by Prof. Pero Mićić posed the question: “What will we live on tomorrow when AI and intelligent robots perform many of our tasks better, faster, and more cost-effectively?”

You can find out who won in each category via the links on the side. Also follow us on the LinkedIn channel of our association under AutomotiveAward, where we will present the components one by one.

Our sincere thanks go to the companies whose sponsorship makes the SPE AutomotiveAward possible in the first place!
