SPE AutomotiveAward 2027

Dear plastics enthusiasts,

It is that time again: We cordially invite you to submit innovative developments in plastic parts for automotive engineering from your company or from your customer and supplier network for the now 24th AutomotiveAward!

The awards are presented in the following categories:
Body Interior
Body Exterior
Power Train
New Mobility
Chassis Unit / Structural Component
Electronic / Optical Part
Enabler Technology

Only series-production parts may be submitted for the first six categories. Prototypes, special technologies, production equipment and similar items are assigned to the Enabler Technology category. Detailed information can be found in the Explanations. Please complete a submission form for each component and send it to us by January 20. The component must be physically available to the jury for evaluation.

Special Awards
In addition to the awards in the categories, three Special Awards are presented. The Grand Award honors the submission with the highest score. The Grand Innovation Award is given to the part that is most frequently rated as highly innovative by the jury members. Since 2021, a Sustainability Award has also recognized the significantly improved overall environmental performance of three components.

All submitted parts will once again be evaluated by jurors from all areas of plastics engineering and automotive engineering. The parts are assessed according to predefined objective criteria.
To ensure everyone has the same opportunities, you may send a person from the development team to the jury meeting to present the innovation in a few sentences and answer the jury’s questions on technical details of the development.

Young Professionals Award

For the fourth time, SPE Central Europe will present the 2027 Young Professionals Award for master’s theses related to plastics in the automotive sector. Submissions are not made directly. Our association asks chairs at universities and higher-education institutions to recommend suitable theses. The Young Professionals Award is intended to serve as a springboard for young scientists and engineers into a successful career.
